Who the Heck Are You? (Erm . . . I mean me . . . .)

Alright, so, a bit more about me.

I was born in a palace by the sea...a palace by the sea... could that be?

That's not right.

Waiiiiit, that was Anastasia. No, I was born in a hospital by . . . nothing in particular that I know of. But born and raised in fabulous Maine, where I've lived all my life except 10 semesters (that is, 5 years minus breaks between semesters) of college, which I spent in Florida. Now, if you're from Florida or like Florida, more power to you, but heat and I don't get along. I'm very happy to be back in Maine.

I got my bachelor's degrees (in writing and in graphic design, as mentioned in the previous post) at Pensacola Christian College, and worked as a summer camp counselor between school years. After a final post-college summer as counselor, I stayed to work in the office . . . and promptly got myself engaged to the camp director's son.

Long story short-ish, this led to leaving the camp and becoming a Pampered Chef consultant while living in the apartment that we intended to share after we married.

Eight years later, I still love him like crazy and we have two crazy-adorable kiddles too.

Awwwwww.

Anyway! What else about me? Let's see, I'm the middle of 5 kids (2 older sisters, a younger brother, a younger sister), and we grew up doing tons of crafts, as well as acting, singing, playing instruments . . . basically, we're an incredibly right-brained family.

So, if you recall, I'm currently seeking a master's of business administration. (Actually, if you don't recall it, I'm still doing it. My seeking an MBA is in no way contingent upon your recollection, or even prior knowledge, of it.) How does such a right-brained individual end up on such a seemingly left-brained endeavor? Ha! I find myself wondering that sometimes too.

Actually, after getting married, I stayed home with those aforementioned crazy-adorable kiddles for nearly 6 years, while selling Pampered Chef on the side, then starting an Etsy shop with my oldest sister, then selling Norwex briefly. Then, through a series of events, my husband and I completely reversed roles, and he stays home with the kiddles while I work in stitching at an awesome company. But seeing what I can do there, and, to some extent, what I can't (like have as much time for making crafts, or have control over my own schedule) has made me really want to pursue one of the bajillion business ideas I constantly have.

Since I know, or can teach myself, how to do the creative parts of that, what I really need to know is how to do the business stuff. So I'm seeking that education, because seriously, I have no desire to start a business and watch it flop.

So then, when I was 15 my long-lost grandmother came to tell me I was actually princess of a non-existent country called Genovia and . . . no, wait that was Mia Thermopolis.*

*But remind me to tell you about my grandmother sometime. She was quite the lady!

I keep forgetting, I'm a pixie, not a princess!

Why a pixie? (And an elegant one at that?) Well, I think that's a story for next time....
